Feick Building History

The Feick embodies early commercial architecture, often known as “Chicago-Style”. This type of early 20th century architecture is quite significant because it was the introduction to the modern skyscraper. During the Industrial Revolution, steel had become mass-produced and steel-framed buildings became much more prevalent. At eight stories, the Feick would hardly be considered a skyscraper by today’s standards, but it was rare to see a building of Feick’s size in cities like Sandusky 100 years ago. Feick has remained a longstanding gem in Sandusky that has been given new life, with 41 new apartments and retail that will cement Sandusky’s reputation as “Main Street, USA”
